Dr. Donald Wallenfang

Gathering Up the Fragments: Pastoral Ministry in a Postmodern World

March 12, 2020 12:00–3:00 pm

After diagnosing today’s pop culture, Dr. Donald Wallenfang will introduce an approach to contemplative prayer as a first step of effective evangelization that challenges pastoral ministers to reinvigorate their personal lives of prayer in relation to their missionary activity. A variety of spiritual and philosophical practices will be presented as essential methods to engage in contemplative evangelization through gathering up the fragments of life.

Dr. Wallenfang, OCDS, is professor of theology and philosophy, as well as Lay Formator with the Institute for Lay Ministry at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. Both he and his wife are fully professed members of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites.
