The great legacy of Sacred Heart Major Seminary is the alumni who serve daily in parishes, education, and a variety of positions throughout the Church and society, and our friends – Catholics who share the passion of supporting our mission of training men and women for leadership roles in Christian ministry.

Bio / Information:
Dr. Gerlach comes to Sacred Heart with an extensive background in theology and administration of educational programs focused on the integral formation of the human person. He has served in his teaching ministry at Catholic high school and university institutions. He has a deep love for the Lord and a desire for evangelization; much of the focus of his work is on the evangelization of Church and culture through the laity. He recognizes the unique and valuable role the laity occupy in the mission of the Church today and the critical need to have a well-developed formation program for lay ecclesial ministers. He is committed to the principles of forming the laity according to Co-Workers in the Vineyard and also a passion for the way in which the seminary can contribute to the work of the New Evangelization. The vision guiding his work developing Sacred Heart’s online education is ecclesial, incarnational, and sacramental.
