Our Newest Graduates. Your Newest Priests.

Ten graduates of Sacred Heart have been, or soon will be, ordained to the priesthood during the spring and summer months. These men, representing six dioceses, are the fruit of your generous and continued support of the seminary.

Archbishop Allen Vigneron ordained three of these men for the Archdiocese of Detroit on May 18. At an ordination ceremony at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Fr. Marko Djonovic, Fr. Patrick Gonyeau and Fr. James Grau received the Sacrament of Holy Orders before a crowd of over one thousand well-wishers. Fathers Djonovic and Gonyeau completed their Master of Divinity degrees from Sacred Heart in April. Father Grau received his Bachelor of Philosophy degree from the seminary in 2009, and then was assigned by Archbishop Vigneron to the Pontifical North American College in Rome to continue his graduate studies and formation.

The following men also are 2013 Sacred Heart Master of Divinity graduates: Fr. Stephen Petrica was ordained for the Diocese of Madison on May 24; Fr. Paul Erickson and Fr. John Whitlock were ordained for the Diocese of Lansing on June 8; and the Diocese of Bismarck welcomed new priests Fr. Joseph Evinger and Fr. Jared Johnson on June 1. On June 29, Deacon Andrew Seba (Chaldean Eparchy of St. Thomas the Apostle) and Deacon Benjamin Huynh (Diocese of Kalamazoo) will receive the Sacrament of Holy Orders in their respective dioceses.

Congratulations and God’s blessings to all of these fine men. Sacred Heart is proud to call you alumni.
