Fr. Bignall, a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit, is the Director of Graduate Pastoral Formation at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
 
Born in 1966 in Detroit, he entered Sacred Heart Seminary in 1984. He completed his undergraduate degree in philosophy in 1989 and entered the graduate school of theology.  In 1993 he received his MDiv and was ordained to the priesthood at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral. 
 
Fr. Bignall has served the Archdiocese in a number of capacities:  He was parochial vicar at both St. Sylvester, Warren (1993-1995) and Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, Farmington (1995-1998).  He became a first-time pastor St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, Algonac (1998-2004).  While serving as pastor of St. Catherine, Fr. Bignall was named Administrator of St. Mark on the Sea,Harsens Island (2002-2004).  Prior to arriving at Sacred Heart Seminary in the fall of 2007, Fr. Bignall served as pastor at St. Angela Parish, Roseville (2004-2007).
 
In addition to his responsibilities as the Director of Graduate Pastoral Formation. Fr. Bignall also serves on the Library Committee, Master of Divinity Degree Committee, Priestly Formation Team, and the Formation Advisor Team in the graduate School of Theology.
