Describing it is as a radical incursion into freedom of conscience, the Catholic bishops of the United States have vowed to fight a mandate from the federal government requiring all health care plans to provide contraception and sterilization coverage.

Celebrating the Triduum with the new missal
New Roman Missal 

Pastors, deacons, liturgy coordinators, worship commissions, and musicians are invited to a workshop to reflect on, understand, and implement the new missal for the central celebrations of our liturgical year. Two dates are available: Feb. 11 or Feb. 18.

At 11 a.m., on the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, Sunday, February 12, Archbishop Vigneron will celebrate Mass for World Day of the Sick at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament. There will be a special blessing for caregivers and health care providers.

See the Face of Jesus through the eyes of the Dutch painter, Rembrandt van Rijn at the Detroit Institute of Arts this winter. More than 60 paintings, prints and drawings show Rembrandt's representation of Jesus. Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus runs through Feb. 12.
